INSTRUCTIONS FOR REVIEWERS

General
These instructions are provided for reviewers and authors in order to guarantee a high standard for the papers accepted for publication. The criteria for acceptance will be at the level expected of highly respected conference proceedings. Reviewers, in accepting a paper, and authors in writing it should aim to guarantee that:

  • The paper communicates the science and the findings in a clear and cohesive manner which can be easily understood by a lay scientific audience.
  • The paper makes reference to other related science and/or findings.
  • The paper is professionally presented, abides by formatting requirements and contains key elements including an abstract, introduction, some reference to methods, findings and discussion/conclusions and a bibliography.

Formatting
Please check that the paper conforms to the Instructions for Authors available in PDF or Word format at the Congress website. Key formatting requirements include the following:

  • Length — The paper should not exceed 7 pages which includes the extended abstract on page one
  • Font — Should be Times New Roman throughout.
  • Author names — Authors listed in bold with presenting author underlined
  • Layout and Margins — A4, left 30mm, right 25mm, top 25 mm, bottom 30mm
  • Headings — Primary headings in Uppercase Bold; secondary headings are Title Case Bold
  • Figures and captions — Figures should be legible and captions are 10 pt centred

Extended Abstract
Page one of the paper should contain an extended abstract as this will form the basis of the printed volume of abstracts. The extended abstract should be a complete description of the problem area, broad findings and outcomes or implications and should hence be self contained. Check that the extended abstract:

  • Does not extend beyond page one
  • Contains a concise description of the subject of the research
  • Contains a concise description of any findings being reported
  • Does not list references - these should be listed at the end of the paper

Body of the Paper
Always commences at the top of page two, regardless of the length of the extended abstract Contains a concise description of the problem, issues, solutions and findings Contains a concise description of any relevant science, methods, or technology Has clear figures that are fully explained in the text and are legible Contains relevant citations; and all citations have corresponding references in the appropriate format at the end of the paper
