There have been significant advances in remotely sensing land surface and hydrologic states and processes in recent years. This session seeks contributions from the research community on remote sensing of hydrologic variables and its applications. We will host a dialogue between remote sensing scientists and hydrologists or Earth scientists on the current research topics and provide an opportunity to discuss emerging issues to be addressed in the upcoming years. Research topics will be arranged to cover a wide variety of issues that include, but are not limited to, observing floodplains, evapotranspiration, streamflow, water quality, drought, and gravity signals in the hydrologic context.
