F12. Unmanned aerial systems for environment and ecology

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are emerging as highly flexible systems for gathering data in environmental and agricultural systems. As relatively new technology that has experienced rapid change, this session will focus on how UAVs are being used with models and how associated processing operations (e.g. image analysis) are being used to support environmental models. This session invites papers on the use and integration of data collected from UAVs into models, improved algorithms for object identification, and the use of different UAV borne imaging systems to improve detections of pests, diseases and ecological change.
