×C5. Web-based modelling frameworks and models

As cloud computing resources and online data storage become more powerful and less expensive, web-based modelling, models, and frameworks are becoming more ubiquitous. This session will organize presentations highlighting new and interesting developments in cyberinfrastructure and software to support web based modeling and simulation. These can include advances in specific components to support web based modelling (cloud computing, data visualization tools, web-based mapping, computational frameworks) as well as case study demonstrations of web based models and systems. Session participants are strongly encouraged to provide access to system and model source code through GitHub or equivalent and provide data for case studies through FigShare, HydroShare or equivalent. Presentations should also include discussion of system architecture, novel approaches to challenging technical problems, and video clips of live demonstrations.

Key topics: Cyber infrastructure, Web-based modelling, Web-based model frameworks
