This session is dedicated to “how machine learning can facilitate solving optimisation problems”. Optimisation has been the core of many machine learning models and recent attentions have considered using machine learning to guide optimisation algorithms or to predict the initial or optimal values of the decision variables (Abbasi et al., 2020). In this session we are keen to invite talks and papers on methodological development or applications of machine-learning-based optimisations. Other data-driven optimisation methods, such as reinforcement learning, are also warmly welcome and will be considered for this session.
