×C12. Web-based modelling technologies and frameworks

As modelling and simulation tools continue to migrate to the web, a growing number of frameworks and technologies have been adopted and developed specifically to support, simplify, and enable web-based model execution and user interaction. This session seeks papers that present novel developments and usage of web-based frameworks and technologies. Example technologies and frameworks include cloud services such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Services; web application frameworks such as Django, Ruby on Rails, Angular JS; integrated open source packages like Tethys Platform; model integration and execution tools like OpenGMS and CSDMS; and related. Example modeling and simulation implementations within a web-based framework and utilizing such technologies are particularly welcome. Discussions of lessons learned, challenges encountered, and successes achieved creating and using web-based models will be of significant interest.

Key topics: Web-based modeling, Internet frameworks, Web technologies
