×C3. Digital twin technology for watershed management

A digital twin is a virtual model designed to accurately reflect a physical scenario. For the hydrological community, digital twin provides a new paradigm for watershed management. It leverages advanced information and communication technologies (ICTs) and modeling technology to map the multi-scale, multi-variable, and dynamic real world to the digital world. This can assist decision making by timely forecasting and early warning through a user-friendly interface. It can cover different waterbodies such as lakes, reservoirs, rivers, estuaries and channels and applied in diverse management scenarios such as flooding, water quality, water distribution, irrigation, etc.

We welcome new ideas and researches related to the enabling technologies of digital twin for watershed management, including but not limited to sensor network, cloud computing, watershed process simulation, 3D dynamic visualization, virtual geographic environments, disaster risk management, and decision support systems.
